After a jump with a Milan post, I go back to the weekend in Fuerteventura to describe "Fabiola", which was a wonderful discovery for me.
I arrived on the island with little information, I must say that I did a search on the internet to know how and where to move for dinner but I was not at all satisfied! So, just landed at the airport, I went to the pharmacy and bought the sunscreen and then I asked the pharmacist if he could suggest some good restaurants. I could not find a better resource! I found that the pharmacist was too fond of good food, of non-tourist nice niches and welcomed the question so that he immediately replied, "on the island, the best is Fabiola." He gave me all the information I needed: a cute little nice, place, run by two Belgian boys, with an international cuisine served with local touches ... but definitely very very good, though not exactly cheap.
What can I say, I was immediately convinced! I surfed the net and booked a dinner for the following Saturday. Fabiola is located in the heart of the island, near the town of "Antigua", so not on the sea. As soon as we arrived, even before entering the room I realized that I’d have fallen in love: it is an old white house, with a cloister which houses sofas for an aperitif before dinner, a small well-tended garden full of flowers, soft lighting , lanterns, candles and a small fountain from which you can feel the croaking frogs! A wonder!
Inside there are 3 small rooms, all impeccably furnished with paintings, sofas, candles, flowers ... really beautiful! Chatting with the owners I found out that one of them is an architect ... hence the attention to all the details! Of course I indulged with pictures though, unfortunately, with the soft light they are not fine! My iphone alas, is not a professional camera!
For dinner, expectations were high and I have to say that they were fully satisfied. We ordered a tuna tartare as an appetizer and the fried goat cheese with a chestnut mousse. Then lamb chops, pork tenderloin with strawberries marinated in red wine and baked cocquerel. All was great and with a beautiful presentation of the dishes. Finally, an apple turtle tatin and a delicious chocolate cake to be divided in 3 ... we finished it in less than 30 seconds.
It 's perfect for a romantic dinner: warm, impeccable service, fine wine and delicious dinner. For all this, we spent less than 50 € each, a bit 'more expensive than other restaurants in Fuerteventura but I assure you that it is really worth it.
Believe me, Fabiola is definitely approved Lov-Eat!
