From Salento to Fuerteventura.
I went back in summer to taste a delicious dinner at Fabiola’s and to book also one in the restaurant Casa Santa Maria.
It was not easy, at first because the restaurant is located in Betancuria, a region a little further away from the tourist areas of the island (but the landscape that can be seen while getting there is very nice), then, because it is open only in summer (in fact even the first time I was in Fuerteventura in April ... I wanted to try was it was closed) and lastly because it is open for lunch when, as a rule, tourists are on the beach!
Despite these small, insignificant obstacles, fortunately for me, this summer they have decided to open in the evening, too, but only once a week: on Friday!
As soon as I knew I soon reserved a table!
And unfortunately I risked even not to go! On that day, in fact, I was stuck with my back (a bad backache) because of my unhealthy idea of going to the most windy beach to take photos of kiters!
Let's say that I’m no longer 20 years ... it was better to stay on the couch in the sun! However, despite the pain, I did not cancel the table. And I did well, not only because the landscape on the way was very nice, but also because it was cute either the little town or the restaurant itself. Not to mention the dinner then .... great!
We tried their specialties: a great jamon (finished in less than 3 minutes), a cheese platter of the island goat, the famous papas arrugadas (baked potatoes ), pimientos del padron (fried green peppers) and roast goat, tender ....and yummy!
All accompanied by an excellent Ribeira wine.
The only downsides were the sweets that were not up to dinner (the chocolate mousse was good, less good the parfait) but as I expected, in Spain, I do not know why desserts are not exceptional ... I remember very few restaurants where I tasted really good cakes!

What else ... nice atmosphere, impeccable service, and cost of the dinner € 50 including wine.
To go back! I hope for me and for them, too if they decide to keep on opening the restaurant in the evening in the future and maybe extend dinner to the other days of the week.
